The Alcohol Safety Pre Prom/Graduation Program invites youth to confront the effects of alcohol and drugs in both the long term and short term- in a group setting of their peers at their own high school.

This course is made up of discussion, interviews, interactive activities and instruction, taught by a dynamic Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with extensive experience of adolescents. The participants will be introduced to the risks associated with substance abuse, especially teen drinking and marijuana and prescription drug use, the concepts of reward mechanisms in the human brain that are affected by drugs and alcohol (and how this can potentially lead to addiction) and the impairments in judgment, coordination and emotions which can profoundly impact personal development.
