Rap Lab

•     RAP LAB is an experiment. That's why it's called Rap Lab.
•     Rap Lab is about ALL music, not just rap music.
•     Almost every teenager harbors the secret fantasy that they can be the next Eminem, Brad Paisley, Lady Gaga or Beyonce.
•     Rap Lab takes that fantasy seriously and gives youth high tech tools (recording studio, video cameras) to create an intensely personal experience to combat the apathy and boredom of daily lives.
•     Usually we provide an original tune and the "Raplabbers" write their own lyrics, but if they hear a song in their head, we can make that happen for them as well.


Who, What and Where:

• Ages: 14-19
• Ongoing one-on-one mentoring with our professional writer honing the lyrics in their own home town.
• Approximately once a month 7 - l0 students ready to record  will meet as a group at the Valley Court Diversion office in White River Junction. VCDP will provide transportation.
• The students will produce and perform (or have a friend perform) a poetic text or a song that they help to professionally record and mix.
• At the end of the process students have an iTunes quality CD.
