Windsor County Court Diversion gives youth who have been charged with a first or second offense the opportunity to accept responsibility for their actions, make amends to their victims, and connect with the wider community. Maureen facilitates hearings several times a month in White River Junction. Volunteers from the community meet and read a brief summary of the incident, and together the client and the board create a contract. Victims play a major role in the creation of the contract. The client leaves the hearing with a contract that they own and have 90 days to complete. When a client completes the contract successfully there is no criminal record.
